Vance Conway, 76,
Minot, ND, formerly of
Westhope, ND, passed
away Tuesday, June 27,
2017, in a Minot hospital.
Vance Leon Conway
was born on January 21,
1941, the son of Roger and
Francis (Moon) Conway,
in Minot, ND. He was
raised and educated in
Westhope, ND and attend-ed college at NDSU Bot-
tineau, where he received
his Associate’s Degree. He
followed up his education
in Special Education at
Minot State University.
Vance was enlisted in
the United States Army in
1960 and was stationed
with the 2nd Infantry Re-
giment in Augsburg, Ger-
many. He proudly served
his country until his
honorable discharge in
1962.
Vance married the love
of his life, Darleen Boye,
on July 26, 1963 in Garde-
na, ND . They made their
final home in Minot, ND
and raised four children.
Vance was a little
league baseball coach in
Westhope, ND. He was a
member and commander
of the Westhope VFW and
District Vice Commander
of the VFW. He was
President of the Vets club
at NDSU Bottineau and
Minot State University.
He was a member, owner,
driver and served as
Secretary and President of
the Nodak Race Club. He
was a member of ABATE,
life member of the Nation-al Harley Owners Group
(HOG), NRA, and the
American Legion.
Vance enjoyed life with
his wife of 53 years, (they
would have celebrated
their 54th anniversary in
July) kids, grandkids,
great-grandkids and his
five furry Dachshunds.
He loved to ride his Har-
ley, travel, camp, boat,
and spend time at the
farm east of Kramer mow-
ing grass and relaxing
from Minot life. He was
also a diehard fan of
heavy metal music and
the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He was a collector of Star
Trek, Harley memorabilia,
coins, wolves, and guns.
He was also a lifetime
watcher of The Three
Stooges, the Pink Panther
movies and Looney
Tunes.

Wife of 53 years, Dar-
leen Conway, Minot; chil-
dren, Sean (Kim) Conway,
Bismarck, Shanette (Per-
ry) Miller, Minot, Sheri-
dan (Denise) Conway,
Moseley, VA and Shan-
non (Dale) Mindt, Chaska,
MN; grandchildren, Sa-
mantha, Cassandra,
Ashleigh, Shane, Christo-
pher, Austin, Alexandria,
Kendall, Erika and Aryan-
na; great-grandchildren,
Brayden, Briella and
Blaysen; one brother; one
sister; and numerous
nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Vance was preceded in
death by his parents.
Memorial Service: Sa-
turday, July 1, 2017 at
1:00 p.m. at
Thompson-Larson Fun-
eral Home Chapel, Minot,
ND.
Visitation: There will be
no reviewal, but friends
