Wayne Dieterle, 76,
Minot, formerly of Drake,
ND, died Monday, May
15, 2017, in a Garrison
nursing home.
Wayne was born No-
vember 1, 1940, on the
Dieterle family farm 8
miles south of Drake, ND,
to Arthur and Ida (Keller)
Dieterle. He completed
high school in Drake in
1959 and went on to
further his education in
Kansas at Ottawa Univer-
sity. He returned to ND
after a year in Kansas and
completed his Bachelor’s
Degree at the University
of North Dakota in Grand
Forks.
Wayne moved back to
the family farm and con-
tinued the family tradition
of raising cattle and small
grains for the next 30
years until his retirement
in 1997. He moved to
Minot, where he spent his
retirement supporting lo-
cal sports activities at
every level with a special
interest in Minot State
Basketball games for
many years, where he
often found his seat
behind the bench of the
opposition. He was a Dal-
las Cowboys fan, support-ing them through thick
and thin.
Wayne served the pa-
trons of the Magic City for
13 years as a taxi cab
driver for Taxi 9000. He
will be missed by all who
were blessed to share in
his life.

cludes his brother, Robert
(Joyce) Dieterle, Bismarck,
ND; special friend, Mary
Locken, Minot; nieces,
Jane Schleisman, Des
Moines, IA, Sarah Brough-
ton, Houston, TX, Jennifer
(Richard) Jacquemart,
Orono, MN, and Ann
Dieterle, Raleigh, NC;
nephews, Chuck (Jill)
Broughton, Madison, WI,
Henry (Kerry) Lonsdale,
San Francisco, CA, Scott
(Dawn) Dieterle, Valley
City, ND, and John (Ami)
Dieterle, Clearwater, FL,;
and a sister-in-law, Liz
Dieterle, Clearwater, FL.
Wayne was preceded in
death by his parents, sis-
ters, Betty Broughton and
Ramona Lonsdale, and
brother, Dwight Dieterle.

a.m. Friday, May 26,
2017, at the Thomas Fam-
ily Funeral Home, Minot.
