Assisted Living.

Monica Gail Dolan was

born June 2, 1931, in

Minot, ND, daughter of

James and Delia (Linquist)

Dolan of Hartland, ND.

She was raised in

Bowbells, ND and gra-

duated from Bowbells

High School in 1949. She

then attended Minot State

Teacher’s College for 2

years studying music. She

met the “love of her life,”

Richard “Dick” Buettner,

at their college bridge

club.

Monica and Dick were

married April 13, 1952 at

The First Presbyterian

Church in Bowbells, ND.

For the next three years

they made their home and

started their family in

Newburg and Norma,

where Dick taught school.

In 1955 they moved to

Minot where Dick worked

for International Harves-

ter until he was

transferred to Arizona in

1962. In 2005, Monica

and Dick returned to

Minot to be closer to their

two grandchildren and to

live out the remainder of

their lives in North Dako-

ta. Dick passed away on

November 26, 2010.

Monica was a devoted

stay at home mother who

was very involved in her

three children’s lives. She

and Dick became the own-

ers of Sundance White

Trucks in Phoenix, AZ

around 1976 and then in

1979 became owners of

Apache Junction Mobile

Home Sales in Apache

Junction, AZ. Monica

later worked for Apache

Wells Realty as a Realtor.

As a young girl,

Monica’s mother would

take her around to other

towns to sing for groups

of people. Monica liked

Shirley Temple and the

Canadian Dionne Quintu-

plets. Monica played the

piano and organ for the

First Presbyterian Church

in Bowbells. She grew up

spending time at her

parent’s cottage, Cozy

Corner, at White Bear

Lake in Canada. She and

Dick spent their retire-

ment years at Cozy

Corner. Monica was an

avid golfer who attained

two holes in one in her

lifetime and also loved

playing bridge. She en-

joyed entertaining family

and friends and wel-

comed anyone to her

home. Monica was a Rain-

bow Girl, and Monica and

Dick were active members

of the Shriners

throughout their lives.

What gave Monica the

most joy in her life was

her grandchildren and

great-grandchildren. Her

passion for music and pi-

ano playing touched

many people’s hearts. She

will always be remem-

bered by the song, “Over

the Rainbow.”

A private funeral was

held at Bismarck Funeral

Home, Bismarck, ND on

March 16, 2017 and a

private Interment was

held on March, 24, 2017

at Rosehill Cemetery,

Minot, ND per her family

wishes.

Oliver Gross. Loving Care-

takers: Unsong, Schey,

Sandy, Roel, Bong and

Gel.

Monica was preceded

in death by: her parents

and brother, Donovan Do-

lan.

tal for Children-Twin Ci-
