Lloyd was born on a

the son of Raymond and

Florence (Routledge) Und-

schools in Van Buren,

Lockwood, Pacific Grove,

Calif., Grassland and

from Lansford High

School in 1945, joined the

Army in 1946, served in

Italy in the 351st Infantry

In the spring of 1948,

Lloyd began farming and

that summer, on July

18th, he married Margaret

Convis. They lived in

Lansford Township and

were involved in the

International Harvester

business in 1958-60 with

brother-in-law, Glen Carl-

son. In 1959, they moved

into Lansford. The oppor-

tunity to expand the farm-

ing operation came when

they purchased the

Charles Knudson farm in

Blaine Township. Sum-

mers of 1970-72 were

spent custom combining

with his son, Ron, and

brother-in-law, Donald

Abernathey. In 1985,

Lloyd and Margaret were

the third generation in the

family to be honored with

the Golden Age Award by

the Bottineau Agricultural

Improvement Association.

As a former member of

this association, he was

awarded the 2011 Pioneer

tired from farming in

1992. In December 2015,

spent 19 winters at their

Mesa, Ariz., home where

they enjoyed time with

family and friends. Trav-

eling was a big part of

their life, visiting all 50

states, six provinces and

multiple countries in Eu-

rope. One of his travels

dear to his heart was

when he visited the Und-

lin Homestead in Norway.

Lloyd took great pride in

his Norwegian heritage,

passing on traditions to

future generations. Many

summers were spent at

their Lake Metigoshe ca-

bin. Some of his hobbies
