Calvin “Cal” Albert

Asendorf, 80, Minot, ND,

died Wednesday, Febru-

ary 15, 2017 in a Minot,

ND, hospital.

Cal was born on April

25, 1936, in Minot, ND, a

son of Albert and Marie

(Weber) Asendorf. In his

early years, he grew up

part time on a farm near

Carpio, ND, and in Minot,

ND. He went to grade

school at Roosevelt and

graduated from high

school at St. Leo’s in

1954. Before attending

college, he worked in

sales. At Minot State Col-

lege, he received a busi-

ness degree.

Cal married Evelyn

Anderson in Minot, ND,

at St. Leo’s Church on Oc-

tober 5, 1957. They have

four children: Todd,

Garth, Dawn, and Dana.

They have seven

grandchildren and one

great-grandchild.

Most of Cal’s working

years were spent with the

juvenile court system in

Minot, ND. During retire-

ment, Cal and Evie spent

their summers at Lake

Sakakawea and their

winters in Tucson, AZ.

Eventually, Cal and Evie

moved back to Minot, ND

into a condo for several

years and for the last cou-

ple of years have been liv-

ing at The View.

Cal liked fast pitch soft-

ball, camping, hunting,

fishing, playing pool, and

watching Twins games.

Cal also loved the violin.

It was not uncommon to

walk by the house and

hear Cal on his violin and

Evie on the piano.

Cal is survived by: his

wife, Evie, of Minot; chil-

dren, Todd (Kristi) Asen-

dorf, of Minot; Garth, of

Fergus Falls, MN; Dawn

(Dennis) Fry, of Wichita,

KS; Dana (Erica) Asen-

dorf, of Canton, IL; and all

of his grandchildren

(Christopher, Tyler, Kay-

la, Hayley, Daniel, Tom-

my, and Emma) and

great-grandchild (Eloise).

He was preceded in death

by his parents.

Mass of Christian Buri-

al: Thursday, February

23, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St.

Leo the Great Roman

Catholic Church, Minot.

Visitation: One hour

prior to the service with a

Recitation of the Holy

Rosary at 10:30 a.m., all at

the church.

Burial: Sunset Memori-al Gardens, Minot.

Memorials are preferred

to the donor’s choice.
