Eugene Davidson

Eugene G. Davidson,

71, Minot, former Long-

time Tolley area farmer,

died Monday January 9,

2017 in a Minot Hospital.

Eugene was born Sep-

tember 2, 1945 at Ken-

mare, North Dakota the

son of Godfrey and Mil-

dred (Axtel) Davidson. He

moved with his parents at

an early age to a farm in

the Bitterroot Valley near

Stevensville, Montana,

where they farmed for a

few years until the Monta-

na State Game and Fish

Department purchased

their land.

The family returned to

their farm at Tolley,

where Eugene was raised

and educated at Kenmare,

graduating from Kenmare

High School in 1964. Eu-

gene assisted his father

with the operation of the

farmstead until taking

over the day to day opera-

tion. He was united in

marriage to Dianna Bly on

June 21, 1996. He retired

from farming and they

moved to Minot.

Eugene loved being out-

doors, spending time fish-

ing, hunting and at his ca-

bin at the Mouse River

Park near Tolley. He en-

joyed doing leather crafts,

making bird houses, visit-

ing with people and col-

lecting toys. He was al-

ways interested in oil ac-

tivity, exploration and

wild cat drilling. He loved

animals, especially dogs.

He enjoyed his many

years in the Tolley area.

vived by his wife of twen-

ty years, Dianna Bly,

Minot, and a number of


Eugene is preceded in

death by his parents and

an infant brother, David.

Services: A Graveside

service will take place

later in the Spring of 2017

at the St. Mary’s

Cemetery, Lignite, ND.

A private family view-

ing and visitation was

held at Thomas Family

Funeral Home, Minot.

In lieu of flowers and

plants, memorials are pre-

ferred to the St Mary’s

Cemetery Fund.
