Calvin Delorme, Belcourt, found guilty of sexually abusing child

Calvin Keith Delorme, 30, Belcourt, was found guilty by a federal jury in Fargo on March 19 of aggravated sexual assault of a girl under the age of 12.

According to a press release and court documents, the child had been left in Delorme’s care and he had sexually abused her on different occasions between December 2011 and March 2014. The crime was reported to authorities in March 2014.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorneys Matthew Greenley and Lori Conroy prosecuted the case.

Felony crimes committed by American Indians on reservations are prosecuted in federal court.
