North Dakota congressional delegation comment on Trump’s address
North Dakota’s congressional delegation provided their comments following President Trump’s address to the nation Tuesday night. Trump outlined the importance of funding to secure the border and addressing humanitarian needs at the southern border.
“Tonight, the president made a very strong case to the nation and outlined the urgent need to secure our border, not only to keep our nation safe but to help address humanitarian needs. We need border security because it is integral to our national security, which is why I believe we need to include funding to secure the border as part of an agreement to fund the remaining 25 percent of government,” said Sen. John Hoeven, in a response provided Tuesday night following Trump’s address.
“President Trump made a clear and compelling case for border security, including a barrier. Democrats must stop politicizing human tragedy, fund a wall, and vote to reopen the rest of the government,” said Sen. Kevin Cramer on social media Tuesday night.
“Last night, the president made it clear that we have a humanitarian and national security crisis on our southern border. Democrats need to negotiate in good faith and work with this administration to end this government shutdown and secure our border,” said Congressman Kelly Armstrong on Wednesday.
