Jacob Stein, Minot, charged with multiple burglaries, fraud

Jacob Todd Stein, 24, is charged with six counts of Class C felony burglary, two counts of Class C felony attempted burglary, and one count of Class C felony conspiracy to commit burglary in district court in Minot. He is also charged with two counts of Class C felony deceptive writings in a separate case.

According to a complaint filed with the court, Stein burglarized the Farmer’s Union Oil, the Town and Country Credit Union, the North Country Mercantile, Team Electronics, and United Rentals between July 22 and Aug. 8, and attempted to burglarize the Hunters Den and the Grain Hopper during the same time frame. He also allegedly conspired with a second, unidentified, person to commit a burglary.

He also allegedly attempted to defraud two people of two separate vehicles by using deceptive writings in November 2017.

Stein is serving another sentence at the state penitentiary. He is scheduled to make an appearance in district court in Minot on the new charges on Thursday.
