Fort Stevenson State Park holds Fat Tire Bike Classic

Fort Stevenson State Park, in partnership with Val’s Cyclery of Minot, is holding a Fat Tire Bike Trail Race, Saturday, Jan. 26. Registration is from 10 a.m. to noon. The race begins at 1 p.m. The total race route will be 14 miles, consisting of 4 laps of 3.5 miles each.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in men’s and women’s divisions. Live entertainment will be performed by Mandan native Brianna Helbling, and a chili feed starts at 3 p.m.

Relay teams of two to four people will be allowed. Each team member must register and pay the individual person fee and must complete at least one full lap. Social riders are also invited to participate. Non-competitive riders are welcome to ride the course at your own pace but will not have a race number; however registration and fee are required.

All registered bikers will receive a subzero neck gator. Cost for all riders: $30 per person in advance, $35 per person on race day. Contact the park office for pre-registration details at 337-5576.
