Farm Rescue raising funds for needed equipment

HORACE – Farm Rescue is currently raising funds to purchase essential equipment for future operations.

The nonprofit organization provides planting, haying, harvesting and livestock feeding assistance free of charge to farm and ranch families who have experienced a major illness, injury or natural disaster.

Farm Rescue recently launched the fundraising campaign to assist in the purchase of two four-wheel drive tractors. The tractors will be used to pull 60-foot air seeding units for spring planting in 2019 and beyond.

The fundraising effort offers an opportunity to individual donors looking to contribute to the cause. With a donation of $250 or more, supporters will get their name placed on one of the purchased tractors. Supporters of the tractor fundraiser will be recognized for several years in a very visible manner.

“We are requesting help in acquiring this much need equipment in a time sensitive manner,” said Bill Gross, founder and president of Farm Rescue. “These tractors are vital for us to provide spring planting assistance to those stricken by unexpected crisis.”

Farm Rescue is hoping to raise $250,000 in donated funds to help acquire one of the new tractors. A second tractor purchase is also planned, with funding being made possible through increased contributions from existing sponsors, grantors and new business sponsorships. Those interested in donating to the Farm Rescue Tractor Fund should visit farmrescue.org/donate and choose “2019 Tractor Fundraiser” in the dropdown menu.
