Minot man taken into custody by SWAT
On Thursday at approximately 7:15 a.m., Minot police received a report indicating 37-year-old Blake Lund was in the middle of the street yelling.
Lund had outstanding warrants out for his arrest including failing to appear for court in regards to multiple felony offenses.
According to a news release on the incident, as officers responded, Lund went into his residence at 1925 26th Street SW. Lund refused to comply with officers and remained in the house. SWAT was called around 9:15 a.m. to assist in apprehending Lund from the residence. Lund displayed a knife several times and at one point attacked a police robot that was being used to communicate with him.
Lund was taken into custody at approximately 4 p.m. after a struggle with officers. In addition to the outstanding warrants, Lund has been charged with preventing arrest and criminal mischief, both Class C felonies, the latter for damaging police equipment. Lund is being held at the Ward County Jail.
