Turtle Mountain tribe receives federal grants
WASHINGTON – The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians will receive two grants totaling more than $1 million through the Coordinated Tribal Assistance Program of the U.S. Department of Justice, Congressman Kevin Cramer announced Thursday.
A grant of $890,236 will be used for public safety and community policing, and a second grant of $146,315 will fund strategic planning for a comprehensive tribal justice system.
