Traffic to be reduced to two lanes on block of Burdick Expressway

Work on underground sanitary sewer lines will temporarily close two lanes of traffic on Burdick

Expressway East, beginning Monday, Sept. 17.

The inside two lanes of Burdick Expressway from 10th Street Southeast to 11th Street Southeast will be closed beginning Monday night. One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction during the work, which is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18.

“We expect the job to be done pretty quickly, but we encourage drivers to use caution when going through the construction zone,” said City Engineer Lance Meyer. “The work will take place inside the sanitary sewer pipe, so the street will not be disturbed. We’ll do our best to minimize the impact on traffic.”

Traffic control signs will be in place to guide drivers through the construction zone.
