State dismissed assault on police officer charge against Eric Deck, Minot
The state dropped a simple assault on a police officer charge against Eric Beeler Deck, 35, on Sept. 6 because Deck was being sent back to Tennessee to face violation of probation charge. He has a drug dealing conviction out of Tennessee. Judge Stacy Louser signed the order last week, according to court documents.
Deck had been acused of punching a police officer in the face in August when the officer responded to a report that Deck had been disruptive and refused to leave the area of Nola’s Bar. The officer, Christopher Robinson, wrote in an affidavit that he tried to persuade Deck to leave and Deck twisted his body and swung his right first at Robinson’s face. Robinson tried to block the blow, but the punch slipped through his lower fingers and hit his right lower lip.
