Sibyl Center brings in another performer
STANLEY – The Greer family, performing as Lindley Creek, will present a concert at the Sibyl Center in Stanley at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7.
Lindley Creek is an acoustic band showcasing beautiful, traditional bluegrass and gospel music, soulful soaring lead vocals, soothing harmonies, intricate instrumental breaks and original songwriting. In the Ozarks and around the U.S. and Canada their bluegrass and gospel harmonies inspire with joy during their up-beat, family-friendly performances at arts centers, churches, concert series, fairs and festivals.
The family band members are Jase, Katie, John and Kathy.
Jase Greer plays fiddle, saxophone and does lead and harmony vocals. Since he began violin lessons at five, he has experimented with dobro and trained with Link Union. He counts Michael Buble’, Michael Cleveland and Andy Leftwich as some of his musical inspirations
Katie Greer plays mandolin, octave mandolin, guitar and fiddle, and sings lead and harmony vocals with Jase Greer. Lindley Creek’s repertoire now features some of her original compositions.
John Greer plays upright and electric bass, and contributes to lead and harmony vocals. He is the band’s bus driver and keeps the family safe on the road, and in spirit.
Kathy Greer plays rhythm guitar and also sings both lead and harmony vocals. She began singing in church as a child, played in a country band during high school and began writing songs in 2005. As the band’s manager and agent, Kathie Greer is the artistic director, staging the shows, maintaining their wardrobes and website and is their social media coordinator. The family sees her as the glue that keeps the family band on the road sharing their music and their faith with audiences as they tour.
