Make a Wish

Submitted Photo Mason Stehley, 8, son of Jodee and Tim Stehley of Minot, is battling childhood leukemia. The Make A Wish Foundation has granted him his wish to visit Universal Studios in Florida for a week. The family will leave on the trip Sept. 25. Mason was surprised by his wish granters on Wednesday at Berry Acres in Minot, where they enjoyed mini golf and other fun activities and had barbecued ribs from Dickey’s BBQ. The family will be staying at Give Kids the World Village and get a chance to visit the Disney parks, SeaWorld and Universal Studios on the Make a Wish Trip. Make A Wish grants wishes to children with critical illnesses. Children do not have to have a terminal illness to be eligible for a wish. Children can be referred by medical professionals, parents or guardians, the child, or by a close family member, according to a press release. More information is available at northdakota.wish.org/refer-a-child.
