Jordan Duke, Stanton, charged with possession of stolen vehicle

Jordan Allen Duke, 25, Stanton, is charged with Class C felony possession of a stolen car in Minot on Tuesday and Class B misdemeanor refusal to halt.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, police received a report of a stolen red 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser in the parking lot at Walmart. Police detained a man in the backseat of the vehicle, who told them that three other people had gone into Walmart. Police went into the store and located two of the other occupants. Duke ran toward the front of the store and ran into a dead end. The officer yelled “Stop! Police!” and Duke knocked soda bottles off a shelf, doubled back the way he came and ran back the way he came. The officer pursued him, grabbed his jacket and dragged him to the ground.

Duke was deemed to be the man solely responsible for stealing the vehicle. He was arrested and taken to the Ward County Jail.
