Taylor Laducer, Williston, sentenced for misdemeanor assault, unlawful imprisonment

Taylor Raymond Laducer, 23, Williston, was sentenced to time served and probation for assaulting his roommate in a dispute over unpaid rent in Minot on May 18.

Laducer had originally been charged with kidnapping and robbery, both Class B felonies, and with aggravated assault, a Class C felony. He pleaded guilty on Friday to reduced charges of Class A misdemeanor unlawful imprisonment and Class A misdemeanor assault. The robbery charge was dismissed.

Court records show that Judge Stacy Louser sentenced him to 360 days in prison on both charges, all suspended but the 91 days he already served in prison, and 18 months supervised probation. The sentences are concurrent. Laducer was also ordered to pay $625 in court costs.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Laducer’s former roommate told police that Laducer and T’Anna Beede drove him out into the country, where Laducer hit him in the head with a small metal softball bat and also struck him in the ribs with brass knuckles. He was then left by the side of the road. The man walked to a neighboring house in the middle of the night to seek help.

Beede has also been charged in the case.
