A band whose members are from Bismarck and Minot has released its first CD and is heading off on another U.S. tour.

Vanity Plate consists of four members. From Bismarck are drummer Connor Wentz and guitarist Zachary Mulholland, and from Minot is singer/bassist Jazmine Schultz and guitarist Zach Schultz. They have been working together for three years.

While the band is split between two cities, it hasn’t stopped them from working together well. For the last six months they have been putting together their new CD, which is shared with the band Free Truman, from Fargo.

“We have been writing our side of the EP for about six months now,” said Jazmine Schultz. “Zach writes a lot of the melodies and records them on computer software, I write lyrics and then we send them off to Bismarck and Connor and Zach write second guitar parts and drum parts.”

After that, they get together to practice.

The CD Perennial will have six songs on it. Three of the songs will be new, original work done by Vanity Plate and three will be from Free Truman.

The band has toured twice previously. On their third tour they will be heading to Texas, Colorado and Montana, spending two and a half weeks on the road.

The band has a Facebook page where fans can visit and see any updates that they share.
