Republicans support Jaeger for Secretary of State

FARGO – On Saturday, the North Dakota Republican GOP State Committee unanimously voted to grant Al Jaeger its letter of support for the office of Secretary of State.

“As the state’s chief election official, our Secretary of State must always operate above reproach and with the highest ethical standards. There is no one more suited for that role than Al Jaeger,” Party Chairman Rick Berg said.

Republicans took the action after endorsed candidate Will Gardner withdrew following reports of his arrest in connection with a window-peeping incident in 2006 outside a women’s dormitory at North Dakota State University.

Jaeger will appear on this November’s ballot as an independent and will face Democrat Joshua Boschee. He has won election as Secretary of State seven times.
