Man charged with plying young teens with alcohol, marijuana
A 24-year-old Minot man is charged with eight Class A misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Casey Robert Donovan appeared in district court in Minot on Monday before Judge Gary Lee.
According to a police affidavit, three girls, ages 14, 12, and 10 had a sleepover and snuck out of the house on Jan. 20 after talking with Donovan on social media. Donovan met the girls down the street, drove them around the country, took them to a restaurant and then drove around again. He gave the girls orange juice spiked with alcohol. He then drove them to his mother’s house and drank alcohol and smoked marijuana. He was too drunk to give them a ride home, so his mother did.
The 12-year-old later told authorities that she and the 14-year-old, along with another 14-year-old girl and two 13-year-old girls, had gone to Donovan’s home on Dec. 31, 2017. The girl said Donovan offered the girls alcohol mixed with soda pop and marijuana. Three of the girls smoked marijuana with Donovan. According to the affidavit, Donovan got drunk, wanted a girl to have sex with him, and was angry because she would not have sex with him. He then passed out.
