Shon Taylor, Larry Baker, Minot, charged with drug offenses following chase
A 42-year-old Minot man is facing multiple charges following a high speed chase on Sunday, according to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court.
Shon Daniel Taylor is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police, a Class A misdemeanor, a fourth offense of driving with a suspended driver’s license, a Class A misdemeanor, carrying a concealed firearm, a Class A misdemeanor, possession of methamphetamine, a Class C felony, and possession of two digital scales, a Class C felony. A passenger in the car, Larry Robert Baker, 36, Minot, was charged with possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia, both Class C felonies.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed in the case, Taylor fled a North Dakota Highway Patrol officer on U.S. Highway 2 at speeds up to 104 mph for four miles near Berthold before he pulled over and was stopped and placed under arrest. Taylor was carrying a pistol in his coat pocket, according to the affidavit. The meth was on the floor of the front passenger seat. A search of the vehicle also turned up a backpack containing needles and the two scales and other items that the officer thought might be stolen property.
