Locations announced for candidate forums

Locations have been announced for the four candidate forums presented by Minot Daily News and the Minot Chamber of Commerce.

Forums are scheduled for May 9 (Park Board, Roosevelt Park Zoo), May 16 (School Board, MSU Conference Center, third floor of Student Center), May 23 (Minot City Council, State Fair Center, FFA area) and May 24 (Minot mayor, Grand Hotel). Forum times are 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

“We wanted to partner with various vendors to bring forums further out into the community and make sure each event had its own feel and format,” said MDN Publisher Dan McDonald.

Invitations have been emailed or phoned in to almost every candidate and many have already responded.

“Participation looks like it will be pretty strong,” said MDN Editor Michael W. Sasser. “Only a couple of people have said they will be out of town, and we are still encouraging those candidates to have campaign material available the night of their particular forum. Hopefully, those yet to respond will take part.”

Sasser said the different forums may feature different formats depending on the number of candidates and the particular seats for which they are running.

Candidates who have yet to do so are encouraged to RSVP and email msasser@minotdailynews.com.
