Woman charged with using stolen credit cards

A 23-year-old Fargo woman is accused of stealing a wallet containing credit cards from a car in Minot and then using a stolen credit card to make $538.54 in unauthorized purchases at Scheels and Footlocker in October 2017.

Devany Marit Holt is charged with Class C felony theft of property in district court in Minot.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the wallet was reported stolen on Oct. 20, 2017. Surveillance footage from Scheels showed a woman a witness identified as Holt, along with a man. Video also showed Holt and a man shopping at Footlocker and using the credit card. On Oct. 26, the alleged victim told police a wallet had been found at Staybridge. The wallet included the man’s two missing credit cards and his Social Security card. The wallet also contained a credit card issued in the name of Holt and a Fargo Public Library card.
