Theft charge dismissed against Stroklund

A Class C felony theft of property charge was dismissed last week against Katie Nicole Stroklund.

Stroklund had been accused of pawning a saw for a friend, David Eugene Hayes, in May 2016, according to court records. Stroklund had told Hayes’ stepmother that Hayes told her the saw had not been stolen. Stroklund went to the pawn shop with the stepmother to buy back the stolen saw and a nail gun that had been sold at the same time.

Hayes is charged with Class C felony theft of property for allegedly stealing the saw from his father’s construction company.

No charges were filed against Stroklund until a year and a half after the incident and she did not make a court appearance until January. North Central District Court Judge Stacy Louser ordered the felony charge against Stroklund dismissed on March 15 after a probable cause hearing.
