The Gratitude Workshop: Customer Service Seminar features well-known author, VJ Smith
The business community doesn’t have to be reminded that times have changed. The shift in the economy is affecting all of us. But one thing that remains the same, is the need for great customer service.
That’s why the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce along with SRT Communications Inc. is sponsoring “The Gratitude Workshop,” through Chamber University. The three-hour morning session will feature author VJ Smith of Brookings, S.D. Smith wrote the book, “Richest Man in Town,” all about his friend Marty.
The Walmart worker was known for his kind, gracious demeanor as he worked the checkout at the big box store. Smith discovered Marty was no regular cashier as he witnessed him taking the time to interact with the customers and even coming around to the customer to shake their hand after the transaction.
Smith will touch on how important it is to be grateful for each and every customer. He says if you want people coming back, you have to give them a reason and something as simple as a smile and a thank you can make the difference.
The event is Tuesday, March 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Sleep Inn & Suites.
The cost is $50 for Chamber members, $75 for non-Chamber members. Contact the Chamber for more information at 852-6000.
