New court date for Yoder anticipated

A 40-year-old Wolford man has confessed to sexually abusing a teenage girl he was previously arrested for molesting last summer, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.

Kim Eugene Yoder was charged in Pierce County with four counts of Class C felony sexual assault. The victim was between the ages of 15 and 17 at the time of the assault. It was previously reported that on different/multiple occasions, Yoder allegedly touched and kissed the girl’s breasts and touched her private parts in an inappropriate manner. Yoder and his wife, Laura, had the girl living with them in a foster type situation in their home in Wolford for more than a year. The victim is no longer in the home.

Yoder retained Grand Forks attorney Tyler Morrow after he made an initial appearance in district court in Rugby. Yoder is currently out on a $10,000 cash bond. A hearing was scheduled for Feb. 26 before Judge Michael Hurley but was canceled. No future date has been set.

Each Class C felony carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
