Minot man sentenced on misdemeanors, felony drug charges dropped

A 29-year-old Minot man pleaded guilty Tuesday to misdemeanor charges of lying to police and to possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wyatt Tyler Thomas Knutson was sentenced to the five days he has already served in jail on the Class A misdemeanor charge of false reports to law enforcement. Judge Doug Mattson also ordered him to pay $325 in court costs and to obtain a chemical dependency evaluation. Knutson was also sentenced to the five days already served on the Class B misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show.

The state dismissed a Class B felony charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver or manufacture and a Class C felony charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Knutson was one of four people picked up on drug charges following a raid at a house in rural Minot on Jan. 7.
