Beardstock celebrates 10th year

Minot State University’s Hartnett Hall will be the location of the 10th annual Beardstock on March 31, according to a press release from the university.

Beardstock was formed in a creative way to help raise awareness about the ever-pressing issue of homelessness in the Minot community and beyond. The event’s platform includes “to make social injustices known through music and art.”

The 10th annual event will include local live music, food trucks, vendors, beard contests, a beard-selfie photo booth and live screen printing. This year will also feature a Minot State art alumni reunion, art exhibits, and improv performances. Doors will open at 1 p.m. and the event is scheduled to finish at 8 p.m.

Beards are encouraged, but not required. The event is $10 per person with Minot State students free with valid student ID. All proceeds will go to the Minot Area Homeless Coalition. A list of bands, schedule of events, and ticket information can be found at www.iamrtl.com or on Facebook at “Beardstock 2018.”
