Woman charged with possession of stolen property, meth possession
A 28-year-old Minot woman is accused of being in possession of stolen checks and methamphetamine and lying to police about her name on Monday.
Shantel Yvonne Lang is charged with Class C felony possession of stolen property, Class A misdemeanor false reports to law enforcement and Class A misdemeanor possession of meth.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed in the case, police arrested Lang following a traffic stop at 11:30 p.m. Monday. She gave them a false name, but one of the officers recognized her. She had a blank check in her purse belonging to a business in Grand Forks and one gram of suspected meth. The blank check had been stolen.
