State of the City event set for Thursday
The City of Minot’s inaugural State of the City event will be held Thursday in the Arvel Graving Theater at Magic City Campus.
The event is the city’s opportunity to highlight accomplishments and provide residents with information on the vision and strategy for the future. The theme of the night will be “Past, Present and Future.”
The event is free and open to the public. The schedule includes:
– 4:30 p.m.: Open house, featuring informational booths from city departments.
– 5 p.m.: City Manager Tom Barry will make introductions, followed by the State of the City address from Mayor Chuck Barney. The winner of the Mayor’s Writing Challenge on “Why I Love to Call Minot Home” will read the winning essay, and other top essays will be on display. The Minot City Council will unveil a new city symbol.
– 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Social hour, including hors d’oeuvres from local vendors.
