Scholarships offered for students of Icelandic heritage
The Fargo-Moorhead Icelandic Klub Scholarship Program offers scholarships to students.
The club offers two options for a total of two $1,000 scholarships. Applicants may be post-secondary students entering their sophomore year or above in the fall of 2018 or persons who are participating in the 2018 Snorri Program, a study program which offers a unique experience of the country of Iceland, its nation, culture and nature. Whether the two scholarships are awarded to students or Snorri participants will depend on the number and quality of the applications.
To be eligible for either scholarship, the applicant must be of Icelandic heritage and be a graduate of a North Dakota or Minnesota high school. For the student scholarship, the applicant must be enrolled for the 2018-19 school year as a sophomore or above at a college or university. For the Snorri Program scholarship, the applicant must plan to participate in the summer of 2018 and be willing to share experiences with the Fargo-Moorhead Icelandic Klub.
The deadline for applications is April 1. The scholarship recipients will be announced in June.
