Six Minot Robotics teams traveled to the First Lego League state tournament in Grand Forks this weekend. The tournament hosts 40 teams from North Dakota and Minnesota in a one day tournament. Of the 40 teams, one advances to the next round of competition.

The six teams that attended were EVAD, The Masked Waterboats, Hydromaniacs, Hydro Hackers, Mindbuilders, and Electric Chargers.

The tournament was a great success for all six of the Minot teams and the Masked Waterbots were able to capture a first-place trophy for their project presentation. The members of the team were Madi Giffey, Ruby Main, Leia McKechnie, Sarah Potts, and Anikka Henjum.

UND has been hosting this tournament for 15 years. Last year only the Minot homeschool team competed, making this years six teams a good growth. They all started meeting in Aug. of 2017 to prepare.

The FLL robotics competition will kick off again next fall. The FLL league is open to all children ages 9-14.
