Minot AFB to host senior leadership conference

MINOT AIR FORCE BASE – Senior leaders from Air Force Global Strike Command bases and Global Strike Command headquarters at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana will be at Minot AFB this month for a senior leadership conference.

Besides Minot and Barksdale AFBs, Global Strike Command bases are Malmstrom AFB, Mont., Whiteman AFB, Mo., Kirtland AFB, N.M., Dyess AFB, Texas, Ellsworth AFB, S.D., and F.E. Warren AFB, Wyo.

Discussions will focus on leadership, heritage and command priorities for the coming year.

Minot AFB was chosen for the conference because Gen. Robin Rand, commander of Global Strike Command, wants his senior leaders to see what the airmen at Northern Tier bases have to deal with when working in the winter conditions, according to Global Strike Command information.

Global Strike Command develops and provides combat-ready forces for nuclear deterrence and global strike operations.

Minot AFB’s 5th Bomb Wing with its B-52 bombers and the 91st Missile Wing with its Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles are units of Global Strike Command.
