ARBI sets annual conference in Regina

REGINA, Sask. – The fourth annual Assiniboine River Basin Initiative Conference will be held in Regina, Saskatchewan on Feb. 14.

“The Ripple Effect of Watershed Management Decisions in the Assiniboine River Basin” is the theme of the conference to be held at the Double Tree by Hilton. More than 100 representatives from North Dakota, Saskatchewan and Manitoba are expected to attend.

Dave Sauchyn, senior research scientist with the Prairie Adaption Research Collaborative/University of Regina, will present on water management in the Assiniboine River Basin for water levels beyond the historical range. Other speakers and panels will cover climate resilient infrastructure, weather modification, regenerative agriculture, community engagement, water quality and terminal basins.

The Wednesday evening banquet will feature former Saskatchewan Roughrider Scott Schultz.

ARBI is a not-for-profit corporation representing stakeholders across the basin with an interest in environmental, social and economic sustainability.
