Ward County Jail inmate receives emergency medical treatment
A Ward County Jail inmate received emergency medical treatment this week, according to the Ward County Sheriff’s Department.
Law enforcement officers brought the 26-year-old man to the jail on Jan. 4, where he was incarcerated on various charges stemming from warrants being issued for his arrest, according to a news release.
“When that individual was booked into the jail at 5:38 p.m., he appeared to be in good physical condition,” the news release said.
On Sunday, Jan. 7, at 9:29 a.m., the man’s roommate pushed the emergency button in the jail cell in which the inmate was housed.
The news release said, “Correctional officers from the Ward County Jail immediately responded and found the inmate in a state which required emergency medical treatment. They immediately rendered first aid to this individual. Minutes after their response to the jail cell Community Ambulance and paramedics responded as well. The individual was transported to Trinity Medical Center by Community Ambulance where he was treated.”
The Ward County Sheriff’s Department cannot release any further information on the condition of the man who is currently being treated at Trinity Hospital in Minot, the news release said.
