North Dakota Council on the Arts announces new executive director
Kim Konikow has been selected as the new executive director of the North Dakota Council on the Arts effective Friday. Konikow will replace Beth Gigante Klingenstein who has had the job since July 2014.
After eighteen years, Kim Konikow is trading Southern Utah red rocks for the high plains of North Dakota.
“My combined experience working in the desert southwest, teaching and consulting nationally, speaks to the unique skills and abilities I possess as a passionate facilitator of opportunity. I look forward to building deep, ongoing relationships with NDCA’s wonderful staff and board, and colleagues around the state. I am thrilled about this new position, to promote artistic growth and strengthen community through the arts,” said Konikow.
As a consultant through artservices and company, Konikow has been engaged in projects which focus on organizational development. She helped institute a Recreation Arts & Parks tax, a .1% sales tax fund for community arts programs, for the Washington County (Utah) Arts Council, and most recently worked to raise preservation funds for the Town of Rockville’s historic bridge in Utah.
