Felony charge dismissed against Chelsey Hoffner

A Class C felony charge of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle was dismissed against Chelsey Marie Hoffner, 26, on Friday, according to court records, but she was sentenced to time served and probation for Class C felony bail jumping.

According to court records, Hoffner was sentenced to a year in jail, with all time suspended but the 41 days she already served, and two years of supervised probation. She must also pay $525 in court costs. If she successfully completes probation, the charge will be reduced to a Class A misdemeanor.

Hoffner is still charged with Class A misdemeanor fleeing from police. According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Hoffner is accused of fleeing from police at a high rate of speed on Dec, 8, 2017 after police tried to stop the car for not having a license plate or a registration card in the window. She crashed the car at Fourth Street and Fourth Avenue NW and then fled from police on foot. A pretrial conference in that case is set for March 28.

She pleaded guilty to reckless driving in Minot Municipal Court in December. The car she was driving went over a curb, a sidewalk, and struck a light pole.
