The topic was “Winter Athletes” for campers at Minot Roosevelt Park Zoo’s Winter Zoo Camp when they learned about the adaptations that help cold-climate animals thrive in the cold. The camp was held this past week. In this photo, the campers are examining a reindeer antler – reindeer use their antlers to push the snow and dirt to forage for food. In a camp activity, the kids tried their hands and being reindeer by using shovels in sand to find acorns. The next education class will be Zoo Explorers on Jan. 27.
