Yoga, music and gallery art will be among attractions at Creative Night Out’s final First Thursday event of the season in downtown Minot.

The Sept. 7 event begins at 5:30 p.m. People can stop at participating retail “hot spots,” to enjoy music, snacks, sale specials, artist demonstrations and more. Hot Spots for September are Artmain, Blue Rider, Budget Music & Video, Gourmet Chef, Mainstream Boutique, Mainstreet Books, Margi’s Art Glass, Off the Vine, Seasons Floral, Taube Museum of Art, The Tap Room, Urban Winery, 3 Little Pigs Food Truck, artist booths and street musicians.

Thursday’s event will feature artist members from Artspace Suite 1 Gallery. Colleen Folven and Jeanne Rodgers will showcase their work in the gallery, and Katie Cleaver and Wendy Voeller will open their studios located in Artspace. The Suite 1 Gallery is a diverse cooperative of members who create and present their art to the community.

Yoga with Amber Senn, Minot Story Hour, and Nodak Knockouts will keep

things hopping as the 7 to 7:50 p.m. feature.

Yoga will be offered in front of Artmain. Senn began practicing yoga in Ohio in 2007 as a way to maintain mobility and build strength. She fell in love with both the physical and mental benefits of yoga and now teaches locally.

Hosted at Main Street Books, Minot Story Hour is a community storytelling group that shares real life stories, in 10 minutes or less. The group’s events offer an open mic atmosphere, where patrons have an opportunity to join in and share their own personal stories.

Nodak Knockouts will share its Roller Derby style, hosted in front of the Taube Museum of Art. Members of the Nodak Knockouts volunteer their time to helping the community as well as creating a solid sisterhood among women from different walks of life.

The 8 p.m. music feature will be provided by Jazmine Wolff Schultz at The Tap Room. Wolff Schultz has been a member of the Minot music community for the past 12 years. She’s a founding member of Pangea House artist collective, and she’s been a member of many local bands, most recently touring and releasing a full length album with her band Vanity Plate.
