Miss Minot Preliminary Pageant
Five contestants took to the stage at the State Fair Center late Saturday to vie for the coveted title of Miss Minot. The scholarship pageant is an official state preliminary to the Miss America Scholarship Pageant.
“Miss Minot is our biggest title,” said Lindsey Bini, executive director. “She’s going to get a $1,000 scholarship.”
Competing for Miss Minot were Arnikka Thompson, Shania Murphy, Caitlyn Bachmeier, Emily Prock and Jane Peterson. They were joined at the pageant by three contestants in the teen category and six princesses, the youngest of which was 6 years old.
“Miss Minot Outstanding Teen is going to get $500,” said Bini as the contestants were being introduced.
The pageant had been missing from the city until the current group of directors decided to bring it back a year ago following a several year absence. The winner will receive her crown and represent Minot at the Miss North Dakota pageant with a chance to advance to the national level.
Results of the pageant were not available at presstime.
