Sign of a scorcher

Kim Fundingsland/MDN Minot’s temperature climbed dramatically Friday. The National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory for much of the state early Friday, warning that temperatures in the Minot area could range from 99 to as high as 103 degrees. The region is experiencing very dry conditions with temperatures running above normal and little chance of meaureable precipitation in the forecast for the next several days. Dickinson reached 103 degrees Friday afternoon. With more hot weather and increased winds in the forecast, the NWS has already issued a Fire Weather Watch for the Dickinson area on Sunday.
