Public comment sought on Paradigm pipeline

The U.S. Forest Service is seeking public comments on the proposed Paradigm North Charlson crude oil gathering pipeline project located in McKenzie County.

The Forest Service will accept comments on the environmental assessment for a 30-day period ending on Aug. 21.

The environmental assessment analyzes the potential environmental impacts associated with construction of approximately 10 miles of 6-inch diameter welded steel crude oil pipeline and associated infrastructure extending from an existing crude oil transmission pipeline to 12 existing oil wells in McKenzie County. The pipeline would be buried underground and would follow existing pipeline and utility easements and corridors where feasible.

Electronic versions of the environmental assessment and associated documents are available at: https://www.fs.usda.gov/project/?project=51920. The link will be active for a 30-day period ending on Aug. 21.

Comments may be made on the Dakota Prairie Grassland’s website above, emailed to kgrotte@fs.fed.us with Paradigm North Charlson in the subject line or send letters to the address below.

To obtain a copy of the environmental assessment and associated documents on CD, contact Kim Grotte at the Dakota Prairie Grassland, McKenzie Ranger District Office, 1905 S. Main St., Watford City, ND 58854. Interested parties can contact the Dakota Prairie Grassland, McKenzie Ranger District Office at 701-842-8509.
