ND Cowboy Hall of Fame inducts eight

MEDORA – Seven individuals and an event were inducted into the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame in Medora on Saturday. Many are from the Minot area.

The inductees and their categories are as follows:

® Clarence Parker of Minot: Great Westerner.

® Paul Christensen of Sawyer: Cowboy Long Rider.

® Herb Birdsall of Berthold: Pre-1940s Ranching.

Cowboy Hall of Fame board member.

® James Connolly of Dunn Center and Golden Valley: Modern Era Ranching.

® Leo Sorenson of Garrison and Halliday area, Pre-1940s Rodeo.

® Brenda Lee Bonogofsky of Star, Idaho, and formerly of Carson, and Denver Jorgenson of Bismarck and a native of Williston: Modern Era Rodeo.

® White Earth Valley Saddle Club: Special Achievement.

Larry Mahan, eight times world champion all-around cowboy, was guest speaker.

The induction ceremony was held at Tjaden Terrace in Medora.
