Minot man charged with child porn possession

A 25-year-old Minot man is accused of downloading child pornograpy.

Nicholas Wilson is charged in district court in Minot with 10 Class C felony counts of possession of child pornography.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Minot police received a tip in March from the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigations Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which had initially received it from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

A sexually explicit image depicting five boys between the ages of 10 and 14 was uploaded to Skype on Jan. 22 from an account matching Wilson’s.

Police obtained a search warrant for Wilson’s phone and found 45 images of child pornography, along with six videos.

Wilson is an active duty member of the U.S. Air Force.

If convicted of all the charges against him, he could face up to 50 years in prison.
