Area communities receive MAGIC funds
Minot’s MAGIC Fund Screening Committee approved $45,700 in rural marketing match grants to 16 communities Friday.
The awards were:
– Flaxton, $2,500 for a Marketing Hometown America program offered through the North Dakota State University Extension Service’s Community Vitality.
– Granville, $2,000 for advertising for events, permanent highway signage and a new city pamphlet.
– Grenora, $2,000 for a digital sign.
– Harvey, $3,500 to advertise for positions, signage and other supplies for a start-up community daycare.
– Kenmare, $4,000 to promote community events.
– Lansford, $2,400 to replace highway sign.
– Max, $3,000 for community calendars, signage updates and website costs.
– Maddock, $2,000 to advertise Rural Renaissance Festival and new permanent signage.
– Mohall, $800 to buy an all-weather message center.
– Parshall, $4,000 to advertise and promote events.
– Rugby Chamber of Commerce, $3,500 to promote community events.
– Sherwood, $2,500 to advertise city events and website fees.
– Tolley, $3,000 for signage.
– Turtle Lake, $3,000 to advertise and promote community events, custom design website and create business directory.
– Underwod, $3,500 for promoting community events and printing of a business directory.
– Velva, $4,000 to advertise Midsummer Night’s Eli Young Band concert.
