Man charged with unauthorized use of personal identifying information

A 41-year-old Minot man is charged with using his ex-wife and her daughter’s identity, as well as that of a third person, to forge checks and open fraudulent credit card accounts last fall.

Brandon Lowery is charged with two counts of unauthorized use of personal identifying information, both Class B felonies; three counts of unauthorized use of personal identifying information, all Class C felonies, theft of property, a Class C felony, and two counts of forgery or counterfeiting, both Class A misdemeanors.

Lowery’s ex-wife went to police last September to report fraudulent activity on her bank account and on that of her minor daughter’s.

Lowery could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted of all the charges against him. He made an initial appearance in district court in Minot on Wednesday.
