Enbridge Pipelines presented 20 emergency response organizations across North Dakota and Minnesota with retired fleet vehicles at the 63rd Annual State Fire School held in Minot.

During an appreciation luncheon for all fire school attendees held on Friday, departments were recognized for the services they provide to the many pipeline communities across North Dakota.

“These vehicles will be used both for responding to emergencies and for operational needs – such as attending training. Both are equally as important if it means being prepared and ready to handle a call for help.” said Ryan Nelson, Enbridge’s emergency response coordinator in North Dakota. “These agencies are primarily volunteer-based which requires many hours spent on fundraising. The more ways we can partner with our responders, the better and more prepared we are as an industry.”

Enbridge has donated 41 vehicles to emergency response organizations across the state since it began the vehicle donation program. Those organizations receiving vehicles will use them for command vehicles, grassland and small structure firefighting units, personnel transport, and extrication units, with Jaws of Life equipment mounted on slider beds.

Recipients of the 2017 vehicle donations are: City of Minot Fire Department, Burlington Rural Fire Department, Portal International Fire Department, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Lakota Fire Protection District, City of Grand Forks Fire Department, Petersburg Fire Protection District, Tioga Rural Fire Department, Rugby Police Department, East Grand Forks Fire Department, Lignite Fire Protection District, Granville Rural Fire Protection District, Surrey Fire Protection District, Surrey Police Department, Leeds Rural Fire Protection District, Michigan/Whiteman Fire Protection District, Trenton Fire Department, Nelson County Emergency Management, Good Samaritan Hospital Association-EMS, and the Bowbells Volunteer Fire Department.
