Plans are being made for the annual Prairie Warrior Association Auction, an event held to support Minot Air Force Base activities. The event is sponsored by the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affairs Committee.

The deadline is March 10, to submit items for the auction.

The auction will be held March 18, in the Holiday Inn Riverside. Preview of the auction merchandise begins at 5:30 p.m., with refreshments and hors d’oeuvres served. There’s also a silent auction. The live auction conducted by Minot auctioneer John Bearman begins at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $25 per person.

Held annually, the auction has raised nearly $650,000 to support Minot AFB activities. Funds raised are used to support the base’s competition teams, squadron activities, annual awards banquets and Operation Warmheart, a yearround program providing essentials such as food, clothing, etc., to needy service members and their families, and Thanksgiving baskets during the holiday season.

Items donated by businesses, organizations and individuals during past years include gift certificates, baskets of items, clocks, jewelry, golf and zoo passes, tickets for Norsk Hostfest and North Dakota State Fair, special dinners, artwork, sports apparel and outdoor cooking equipment.

Those who do not have an item to donate can contribute money to be pooled together to purchase larger ticket items.

For information about contributions and other details about the auction, contact Betty Fedorchak, auction chair, at 838-6680 or the Chamber at 852-6000.
